I bought two of these to put my floorstanding 3 way speakers on for my two channel audio system. Not only does it work for it’s intended purpose, it’s also an additional guard from my wifes vacuum cleaner. I could do without the giant advertisement on the top of it, since it’s in my living room, but the music is much more important than what the room looks like. I also bought one of their Lenrd bass traps which has also made a great difference in a troublesome corner of the room (behind speaker). Isolation and room treatments can make an amazing difference. I know people who get rid of audio equipment because it’s too bright or too bassy, without ever treating their rooms with bass traps and acoustic panels. Big mistake. You’ll never find the sound you like in an untreated square of rectangular room unless it’s loaded to the hills with books and furniture, heavy drapes etc. Never.

  2. I live in an old apartment, and my sub would rattle everything on the walls. After getting the GRAMMA, I am able to turn the bass up, get cleaner lows, and minimal rattle. Plus the neighbors below me are thankful, as the bass isn’t slamming, and much more mellow. Overall I need to buy more of these.

Currently updating my small Home Theatre setup and I’m happy to say the Auralex GRAMMA Isolation riser, which is placed under a Klipsch RW-10d subwoofer, has noticably ‘improved’ the sound Quality and Clarity of my listening space.

So, Yes, I had to agree with the reviews I studied before making this purchase. Have also tested the Auralex MoPADs under a pair of Klipsch F1 synergy floor standing speakers. . . AMAZING

Purchased the Auralex GRAMMA amp isolation riser in Dec 08 to use with a SVS PB10-NSD subwoofer in an upstairs home theater room which was causing house rumble and plaster pops (over dry wall nail/screws). The GRAMMA worked like a champ, no more house rumble, no additional plaster pops for an inexpensive price. Wife is happier and the sub even sounds clearer! Well made product, defintiely recommend.

The first Gramma I purchased was to use underneath a subwoofer in a 5. 1 home theater/audio setup. This product really does a great job of isolating and tightening up the notes from the subwoofer so that what you hear is real bass and not something that is affected by the floor. Next I bought one to put underneath a stand for my audio and video components. I know that sounds crazy and maybe it is, but I wanted to isolate everything from the vibrations on the floor. I really don’t know if that makes any difference sound-wise since I didn’t do a comparison, but I feel better knowing the stand is resting on a Gramma instead of directly on the floor. My third and fourth Grammas were purchased to go underneath left and right studio monitors used to amplify electronic drums when I want to hear them without using headphones. Again, they do the trick of isolating the sound so what you hear comes from the speakers and not impacted by the floor. They are very sturdy and the claim that they support 300 lbs seems accurate to me. My only complaint is that these are pretty expensive considering one could probably make something like this for a lot less money, but since I am a klutz when it comes to making anything and am lazy as well, to me it is worth spending the $$ for one of these. Or four.
