I thought this book was much better than anything I found online. My daughter has a very hard time understanding at school, but she took to the lessons (I’m learning guitar right along with her) easily.
I never bothered using the cd, we used the piano to tune. The only problem I’m having now is finding a book that will start where this one left off. She’s ready to move on to some more single notes and a few more chords.
If you already know how to read music and have the patience to teach your child to learn the scales, this book is great. I made flash cards for her to learn FACE and EGBDF and she got them in less than a week. This is a girl who has a hard time remembering 50 is fifty (she’s 5).
I ordered a copy of Learn & Play the guitar on a Friday night. The package was shipped on Saturday and I received on Monday. Very delighted and surprised to receive it that quickly via regular mail!
