I thought Ken’s transcriptions were fun to play and it was exciting to discover how these famous transcriptions might work on guitar.

However, I think there was a little too much focus on mechanically assigning the appropriate notes to the guitar from the orchestra and perhaps not enough time spent on being creative in trying to make these pieces shine on guitar. The fingerings were perhaps unnecessarily cumbersome, requiring a large committment on the part of the player to be able to play these pieces.

I fully acknowledge that it’s not at all easy to arrange a full orchestral piece on a solo guitar so perhaps I should not be harsh. The pieces were fun to play and I will keep at it.
